Imagine an impressive 18” diameter copper table etched with an 'old-world' style drawing of your favorite lake, pond, river, bay, seaway, body of water, or property - not a generic drawing on a table top, but one-of-a-kind copper table top actually created for you. A truly unique, custom copper table just for you or your family - or as an unparalleled gift - that will become an heirloom for generations to come.
You decide what you want on your copper table, and the Rhode Island artist will handcraft a table personalized with the lake that your family vacationed on for year, or the cove on that pond where your camp sits, or the river you boated on and swam in throughout childhood. We can include a map, special quotations or family names, dates or more - you decide what you'd like to appear on the copper top table - everything will become a permanent part of the copper through a chemical
process.
Just upload a map to give us an idea of what you'd like. We will contact you before any work begins.

We will contact you before any work begins on the custom copper top table to verify all information.
To create each individual copper top, the map of your body of water or property is carefully hand-drawn by the artist, using a special etching technique. Any quote, or names and dates, you provide will also be hand-etched onto the copper. A brown patina is then applied, highlighting the artistry of the piece. The edges are specially crimped, a coating of semi-gloss protectant is applied, and then the copper top is mounted onto a base made of solid, reclaimed mahogany wood crafted by a former Newport, Rhode Island boat maker. The mahogany has been polished with tung oil to bring out the natural beauty of the wood.
It is surprisingly simple to maintain its high quality within your home. In fact, we recommend only soap and water occasionally. Avoid commercial polish or metal cleaners as they can break down the protective layers of sealant.
For a truly one-of-a-kind piece of furniture, have a custom copper top table created for your home today. Dimensions 18” x 24”. Because each copper table is individually hand-crafted, please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery. Handcrafted in Rhode Island. Brought to you by The New England Trading Company, Ltd.

Patina is usually a green film formed naturally on copper and bronze by age or long exposure or use, or artificially (as by acids) and often valued aesthetically for its beautiful color. Although patinas occur naturally over time and with nature, the process of oxidation can be sped up through different techniques.
The application of various chemicals to metals as well as some heat processes can create some of the beautiful colors you see in this body of work. The effect of patination of metals such as brass and copper can vary greatly. Colors may range from greens and blues, to brown, reds and golds. The unpredictable nature of this process is what entices the artist to create them. No two colors are ever identical! Only the most alluring colors are picked for the jewelry pieces. They are then “cold connected” by riveting the brass and copper pieces onto sterling silver.
To care for your Copper Etched Tables... Never use copper or brass cleaner as this table has a patinated finish and has been waxed. Little care will be needed to maintain this finish, every so often a fine steel wool will work to brighten it up.
