Lobster Rope Doormats are handwoven in Down East Maine using recycled Maine float-rope that was once used to tether lobster traps together in the ocean. Unfortunately, the Northern Right Whale often became entangled in the rope, so fishermen have switched to safer sink-rope. Rather than sending the used rope to landfills it is now being recycled into these innovative doormats!

Virtually indestructible, these mats, also known as "Doormats of the DownEast", can withstand even the worst weather Mother Nature can throw at them. Clean up is a snap, too. Just shake the mat out or hose it down - it's even quick-drying! Recommended for non-skid surfaces only.

Doormats available in three sizes: Medium (approximately 18" x 30"), MediumPLUS (approximately 21" x 33") and Large (approximately 24" x 36"). Choose from the widest variety of colors options available anywhere - based on our in-stock inventory.

Because each doormat from Down East Maine is handcrafted from the authentic Maine lobster float ropes that have been pulled from the Atlantic Ocean, no two are ever quite the same. Exact colors, tones, and rope-flecks may vary, but we've done our best to represent the colors we have available. We're sure you'll be delighted with yours!
