Handwoven from recycled Maine lobster rope, this innovative doormat is both eco-friendly and whale-friendly! The rope is no longer used by Maine fishermen because it entangled the Northern Right Whale, a protected species. Instead of throwing it out, however, a clever Mainer came up with the idea of weaving them into these colorful doormats!

Virtually indestructible, these mats, also known as "Doormats of the DownEast", can withstand even the worst weather Mother Nature can throw at them. Clean up is a snap, too. Just shake the mat out or hose it down - it's even quick-drying!

Doormats available in three sizes: Medium (approximately 18" x 30"), MediumPLUS (approximately 21" x 33") and Large (approximately 24" x 36"). Choose from the widest variety of colors options available anywhere - based on our in-stock inventory.

Because each doormat from Down East Maine is handcrafted from the recycled Maine lobster float rope,  no two are ever quite the same, so exact colors/tones cannot be guaranteed, and some float-ropes have multi-colored flecks within them. But, we've done our best to represent the colors we have available, and we're sure you will be delighted when you receive yours! Recommended for non-skid surfaces only.
