They're a clever way to protect the environment and bring color to your doorstep! They're handwoven from recycled Maine float-rope that once tethered lobster traps together in the ocean. The rope is no longer used by Maine fishermen because it entangled the Northern Right Whale, an endangered species. Instead of throwing it out, a clever Mainer came up with the idea of recycling them into these colorful doormats!

These tough doormats can withstand even the worst weather from Mother Nature. Clean up is a snap, too. Just shake the mat out or hose it down - it's even quick-drying!

Doormats available in three sizes: Medium (approximately 18" x 30"), MediumPLUS (approximately 21" x 33") and Large (approximately 24" x 36"). Choose from the widest variety of colors options available anywhere - based on our in-stock inventory.

Because each doormat from Down East Maine is handcrafted from recycled Maine fishing rope, no two are ever quite the same, so exact colors/tones cannot be guaranteed, and some ropes have multi-colored flecks within them. But, we've done our best to represent the colors we have available, and we're sure you will be delighted when you receive yours! Recommended for non-skid surfaces only.
