Handmade from recycled sails, every bag has sailed around the world before it even leaves the shop. These chic, colorful, and environmentally-friendly totes are handmade on a working fisherman’s pier in Portland Maine. Inspired by the distinct markings on the sail itself, each bag is unique and one-of-a-kind.
They feature rope handles that are hand-spliced, a traditional nautical skill. And, just like the sail it once was, each bag can weather rough handling – all are durable, water resistant, and washing machine friendly.
They make a great carryall from the dock to the gym, market, beach, downtown, or around campus. Most Sail Cloth Totes (like most sails) are white or off-white Dacron and will vary in texture and fabric. Available in Large (shown - 14” x 18”). Every handmade bag will vary an inch or so on any dimension. Numbers featured are usually 2,3,5,6, or 9 and will vary based upon availability. Number available in Navy, Red, or Black.
So, where do old sails go? To Sea Bags, of course. Turning recyclable material into a useful and fashionable product, rather than filling up our landfills.
