This heirloom-quality wooden pen is handcrafted from historic wood salvaged from some of history's last four-masted schooners - the Hester and Luther Little. Built in the early 1900's, these 2 schooners carried coal, ice, and timber during the heyday of the commercial age of sail. In 1932 they were retired in the Sheepscot River in Wiscasset, Maine; soon becoming one of Maine's most photographed landmarks and a roadside curiosity for tourists. The Hesper and Luther Little were removed from the Sheepscot River in 1998, but their history lives on in these handcrafted heirloom-quality wood pens.
