This historical heirloom-quality pen is handcrafted from a true relic of the Civil War. The Grant-Lincoln sycamore tree once stood by famous Civil War headquarters in City Point, Virginia where General Ulysses S. Grant and President Lincoln presided at the end of the Civil War.
City Point, the center of the Union Army's headquarters and supply center for 100,000 soldiers, was key to the capture of the Confederate capital of Richmond Virginia. As the area where President Lincoln, Grant, and key military leaders discussed plans to reunify the country, Center Point holds a significant place in American history.
The historic wood salvaged from this sycamore tree, which was removed from the City Point National Battlefield Site in 2007 by the National Park Service, was carefully hand-turned and hand-sanded to create each collectible historic wood pen. It's like history you can hold in your hand.
