This collectible Civil War commermorative pen was handcrafted from a honey locust tree that witnessed the Battle of Gettysburg and the Gettysburg Address. Damaged by a storm in 2008, a portion of the tree had to be removed. The historic wood was salvaged and turned into these unqiue pens. The surviving portion of the tree still stands today, at the Soldiers' National Cemetary. Embedded in the cap of the pen is a piece of a Confederate mini ball that was found in Appomattox, Virginia - the site of General Lee's surrender to Grant's forces.
This American double twist pen utilizes a Parker type refill, medium point. It's easy to refill so this pen can be used for years and years. Arrives in a black display case with certificate.
Handcrafted in Maine.
