This collectible historic wooden pen is handcrafted from teak decking from the famous USS North Carolina battleship, which participated in every major naval offensive in the Pacific during World War II and earned 15 battle stars. Like history you can hold in your hand, each heirloom-quality pen is carefully hand-turned and hand-sanded from the salvaged wood.
The first of the Navy's modern battleship and nicknamed "The Showboat", she logged over 300,000 miles from 1942- 1945 and carried out 9 shore bombardments, sank an enemy troopship, and destroyed at least 24 enemy aircraft. She was reported as sunk on 6 separate occasions by Tokyo Rose, yet the USS North Carolina battled on throughout the war and can now be visited in Wilmington, NC.
